Hate to see it. 🙄

As a current e-subscriber I hope this can be improved. I really enjoy the informational and thought-provoking pieces as well as investigative articles. Seeing inequalities like this make me worry about local journalism.

As it should. Local journalism already struggling and failing to invest in it — and the people behind it — only puts the product in greater peril. I'm optimistic @tribpub will do the right thing.

Just insane the policies of some of these news orgs on their maternity leave. 😡 Especially these orgs: Advance, McClatchy, Minneapolis Star Tribune, Tribune Publishing https://t.co/kqV3HkkZeh pic.twitter.com/xoYulBF3Fm

Seeing the Trib policy in this roundup of newsroom parental leaves makes me want to punch something. Fighting the good fight, @CTGuild. https://t.co/q0huJGm1wv pic.twitter.com/uLuRH0mwPj

As always, there are “policies” and there is reality. I asked repeatedly about parental leave before joining Tronc. No good answers. After my wife got pregnant I just *told* them (not “asked”) I would be gone for two weeks at birth and ten weeks after my wife came off leave.

Once I was out I learned that there is a Long Term Disability policy that covers parental leave! But no one told me beforehand. They deliberately keep it opaque to get you to take less time.

From the same people that named a company TRONC

Truly offensive.

McClatchy and Tribune stand out on this list, offering no parental leave for new parents.@WSJ has offered 20 weeks since 2017https://t.co/AMeAS1Lx1B

It’s absolutely unreal that this is the reality for expecting @tribpub employees. https://t.co/yF2Kt3zwOX
