I’m really at a loss to understand how the LA Times newsroom could possibly be at fault for the failure of the marketing, customer service, tech and other business-side departments to improve the marketing and distribution of the product and increase digital subscriptions.

Exactly. I was wondering the same.

As a long-ago Angeleno, I've found it impossible to subscribe digitally to the @latimes from Canada.

Change is hard!
“One person who was in the meeting said Pearlstine opened by saying, “I have been in this business for so long, I thought I had made every mistake there was.”
Then, the 77-year-old said, “You’re never too old to f— up.”

Have been a fan of what LA Times has been doing, but forgot payment last month and was hounded by collections for $18 – while out of town. Got back, switched to auto pay and then got notice I'm cancelled. Debating if I keep now, so can relate to customer service issues.

Interesting feedback. Craig.
